Frosting:
Frosting must be thick (never use whipped cream - only on border decorations). You may use Betty Crocker®, royal icing is recommended for cookies and cupcakes. Once you put the image on top of the cake or cookie it will start dissolving giving a paint brush effect that cannot be removed or altered.
Surface:
White Icing:
Regular white, or off white icing is always best for edible cake stickers. However cake stickers can always be used on other surfaces.
Chocolate Icing:
Chocolate is recommended for cakes or cupcakes as long as it can it's served with in 3-5 hours time frame. Don't leave your edible image overnight on top of your chocolate covered cake or cupcake or else it may fade in with the chocolate.
Colored Icing:
Colored frosting can fade your image if left overnight. For best results use your edible image the same day of the event. As an alternative you may cover the colored icing with a thin layer of white icing, and then apply the image. This will help prevent color penetration.
If not handled properly, the image may tear. Always use a flat surface to avoid damaging the image. The surface can be dried or humid but not liquid, as images will dissolve with hot or cold water. Cake Stickers® can also be cut easily with scissors for complicated shapes and designs. Use melted chocolate, icing or clear piping gel to hold images on flat surfaces.
Storage:
Edible Cake Images "Cake Stickers" have a shelf life of one year and can be stored at room temperature.
